Brickfields
In what was a former metal works factory in the middle of the vibrant, creative East London scene, Bluebottle was tasked by its long-time client Workspace, known as London’s leading provider of flexible offices, with creating an original and newly versatile workplace in Hoxton. Sympathetic to the building’s industrial past, the studio created convivial hospitality areas that include a vibrant café and reception area as well as meeting rooms and common areas that prioritise agile working and encourage informal social interaction and the opportunity for collaboration.

The design included introducing layers of colour, pattern and texture, working with a palette of warm tones and honest materials such as end grain timber flooring, exposed clay plasterwork, sisal wall paneling and accents of glazing, steel, and leather.
As well as introducing expansive glazing for the flow of natural daylight, Bluebottle also designed a series of bespoke upholstered benches to line the perimeter of the café and entrance area to create plenty of seating and opportunities for people to meet and chat. An elongated refectory-style table was custom-designed along with bistro tables and a bar counter.
